Yardball Case Study

Yardball · Ecommerce website case study

A website rebuild
for Yardball.

I redesigned and rebuilt Yardball’s Shopify website over several months and continue to support the brand through product launches, original photography, SEO, Meta advertising and Klaviyo email.

Reported results

More sales on similar traffic.

Yardball’s 2026 performance review reported higher net sales and store conversion on almost the same number of online store sessions as the year before.

36%higher net sales
26%higher store conversion rate
1%more online store sessions
12%higher reported return on Meta ad spend
The comparison: January through September 2026 against the same months of 2025, excluding April and July in both years because of production pauses in 2026. Figures are rounded relative changes from Yardball’s October 17, 2026 review. Store figures come from Shopify; ad results use Meta’s attribution. These results cover the wider website, advertising and email work. They do not isolate the effect of the website rebuild.
01 / WEBSITE

Make the ball easier
to understand.

Yardball combines a ball and a glove in one. The rebuild needed to explain an unfamiliar product while making room for new colors, limited runs and custom orders.

I rebuilt the homepage around original photography and a clearer sequence: what the ball is, how it feels, which one to choose and how people use it. The product story, reviews and custom options now have a place in the same page.

02 / SHOPPING

Give each product
the detail it needs.

I rebuilt the regular product template with clearer thread choices, original product photography and more useful information around the cart button. Shipping, pickup and returns sit closer to the purchase decision.

Further down, the page explains the leather, core, size and feel, brings customer reviews into view and answers practical questions about using the ball. Other colors are easy to find from the same page.

A separate template for limited runs.

Limited Production Runs got their own page template, with the run number, a short story and a larger photographic presentation. The release can have its own character while still feeling like Yardball.

Checked on a phone.

Each section was checked at phone width before it went live. Product information, thread choices and the cart button needed to work just as clearly on a smaller screen.

03 / NEW PAGES

Keep building around
what the brand needs next.

The work continued with a dedicated customer reviews page, a press page and a landing page for welcome email codes. The code page carries the offer into the shopping experience and puts product choices close by.

I also create new product banners, add pages, update product copy and work on SEO as the site develops.

04 / EMAIL

Turn the signup
into a game of catch.

I built a catch game to replace the static email signup popup. Visitors play six throws and receive a discount based on their score, with an option to skip the game.

Each discount tier connects to matching Klaviyo welcome emails. I rebuilt those emails to use the same photography and visual style as the site, with a clear code, product links and a landing page that applies the offer.

Continued support

The work continues
after a page goes live.

Alongside the website and email work, I manage Meta advertising and create campaign photography and video. New products need new banners, campaigns need useful landing pages and welcome emails need a clear path back to the store.

I keep working across those pieces as Yardball grows. That includes regular SEO, product page updates and new pages, while keeping the brand’s photography, copy and design consistent.

The rebuild took place over several months, with continued support as new products and campaigns go live.
