Made in KC Café · A Blamilton Creative project
A complete website rebuild.
Original photography to match.
I handled the website design, Squarespace development and all photography for Made in KC Café in downtown Kansas City. The rebuild brought the menu up to date and gave Backstage Bar more visibility, with continued support as the site grew.

Bring the website
up to date.
The old site no longer reflected the café. Menus had outdated prices and discontinued drinks, signature drinks were missing, and Backstage Bar had little presence. The website needed to catch up with the place people were visiting.
I rebuilt the site in May 2025 around current information, original photography and clearer paths to the menu and bar. Support continued with menu and hours updates, followed by a dedicated private events page in October 2026.

A clearer first impression
The previous homepage led with a heading and slideshow. The rebuilt homepage adds a menu button in the opening view and a dedicated section for Backstage Bar.
The photography connects both sides of the business, from daytime coffee to evening cocktails and private gatherings.
02 / Website development
A Squarespace build
for menus and event inquiries.
I designed and developed the site in Squarespace. The build includes a combined café and bar menu with tabs, layouts that adapt to phones and a private event inquiry form.
Menus, hours and event details need to stay current. I’ve continued supporting those updates since the rebuild.

Original photography,
from coffee to the bar.
I photographed the café’s food, drinks and interiors, then used that work across the homepage, menu and event page. The images show what guests can order, the spaces they can visit and the people behind the bar.
A clickable menu.
Searchable text.
The old taproom menu used images of printed menus. I rebuilt it with clickable café and bar sections, plus tabs for signature drinks, coffee basics, other drinks, cocktails and pours.
Guests can click between the sections to explore the choices. Drink names and descriptions are selectable, searchable page text that search engines can read, with my photography alongside the menu.

Make room for
Backstage Bar.
I added the private events page in October 2026, pairing my photographs of Backstage Bar with space, pricing and booking information.
The inquiry form collects the date, time, guest count, catering needs and occasion. A homepage link gives guests a direct route to the page and puts private events alongside the café menu.

More visits.
More pageviews.
In the reported eleven months after the rebuild, visits and pageviews were higher and bounce rate was lower than in the comparable period before it.
Squarespace Analytics: June 2025 through April 2026 compared with June 2024 through April 2025. Each window covers eleven months and excludes the May 2025 rebuild month. Figures are rounded from the supplied project report.
These are observed website traffic changes. They do not isolate the rebuild’s impact or establish an increase in calls, event bookings or café sales. The private events page was added after this comparison period.
Current website screenshots: October 17, 2026. Archive dates are shown beside the earlier views.
